I need help on solar energy for a competition?

My question is what besides solar panels and zeolites / photovoltaic can store solar energy?

Our project is about using nanotechnology to store solar energy. We are trying to think and look of something that may store solar energy and is much like chloroplasts (if possible).

Thank you

Solar energy can also be stored as heat.

Is your issue storage or collection? For storage I would consider photovoltaics and super capacitors if you need it to be light and capable of rapid discharge. If you want a novel project go with Hydrogen (electrolysis and either fuel cells or oxy-hydrogen combustion to use it).

Chloroplasts store energy as sugars. It’s a relatively slow process. You won’t be able to, for example, use the energy in the sugar a plant produces in real time.
